nowHIRE Debuts Digital Signature Capture Technology
nowHIRE.com Debuts SigCAP™ Technology for Digital
Signature Capture at Chicago’s HR Technology
Conference & Expo
Physical signature pad offers a completely paperless
electronic hiring process that promotes true hard
cost savings and is legally defensible
Detroit, Mich. — Oct. 10, 2007 — nowHIRE.com,
a premier provider of applicant tracking and hiring
management systems, today announced SigCAP™, a
digital signature capture tool for nowHIRE’s
applicant tracking system (ATS). nowHIRE will
feature SigCAP at the HR Technology Conference &
Expo, Oct. 10-12 at Chicago’s Navy Pier.
SigCAP, a physical signature pad, offers a
completely paperless and legally defensible
electronic signature process for all pre- and
post-hire documentation, which is imaged and then
vaulted by storing on secured servers. SigCAP is
designed to work hand-in-hand with nowHIRE’s
enterprise solution, a customized system that
delivers multiple recruitment platforms and
workflows to accommodate varying applicant and user
processes.
SigCAP is also used in conjunction with nowHIRE’s
onboarding module. The module provides tools such as
a new hire portal, specialized correspondence and a
hiring manager dashboard. Pre-populated onboarding
forms and automatically triggered new hire export
information help employers turn promising candidates
into productive employees in record time.
Pep Boys, the nation’s leading automotive
aftermarket retail and service chain, has installed
the SigCAP pads at its 592 locations across the
United States and Puerto Rico. Exempt and non-exempt
candidates can apply for a position at
www.PepBoys.com or simply walk into any Pep Boys
store to apply. The system takes the applicant
through a complete online application and interview
process. If the candidate meets the minimum
requirements and is eligible for an on-site
interview, the applicant is asked to digitally sign
the appropriate documents by using nowHIRE’s SigCAP
tool. The electronically signed documents bearing
physical signatures are imaged and then vaulted on
secure servers, ensuring that prospective and hired
employees’ information remains secure and is easily
indexed for quick retrieval. Once a hiring decision
has been made and a candidate accepts the position,
the digital signature process is carried through for
all the necessary new hire forms, including all
on-boarding documents such as W-4 and I-9 forms.
“Due to their vast expertise with hiring management
and applicant tracking systems, nowHIRE allowed us
to go completely paperless and integrate all of our
processes into a single solution with multiple
recruitment processes and user workflows, saving us
time and money and streamlining our talent
management and hiring process,” said Troy Fee, Pep
Boys’ senior vice president of human resources.
“SigCAP offers more than just an online approval —
it significantly reduces hard and soft costs and
meets our legal and technological requirements.”
Hard cost savings for Pep Boys include mailing,
paper and printing costs for all applicants and new
hires. Soft costs include the reduction of
administrative work by store managers.
“nowHIRE is the only company in our industry that
offers an electronic physical signature capture on
documents, which allows Pep Boys’ hiring to truly be
an end-to-end and paperless process,” said Joseph N.
Impastato II, nowHIRE’s president and founder. “Most
companies only offer a point and click online
approval, but we’ve developed a secure, legally
defensible process that reduces hard costs and
streamlines an entire recruitment and hiring
process. It is a huge step in our industry when a
company can say that true bottom line HR costs were
saved!”
With SigCAP in place, hiring managers reduce time
spent doing administrative tasks related to hiring,
allowing store managers to spend more time with
customers.
“We challenged nowHIRE to take the ‘electronic
signature’ beyond just the standard check box
solution and, as usual, they pulled through for us,”
said Karen Bryson, Pep Boys’ director of recruiting
and employment, who has served as Pep Boys’ nowHIRE
project manager since 2003.
