If your primary (or
only) objective is to get some control over a
volume of resumes that are building up on your
hard drive or server, then the Lite version may
be all you’ll ever need. The Lite version
converts resumes into database records, which
means that the resumes can now be searched,
based on any content.
RESUMate lets you “mix and match” any number of
data items, such
as job titles, previous employers, city, state,
zip code, area code data, etc. for the purpose
of finding all candidates in your file who match
any set of criteria you can think of. The Lite
version actually goes well beyond searching, and
provides easy-to-use functions for other
recruiting-related activities such as keeping
notes of conversations with candidates, sending
e-mails, scheduling follow-up phone calls, etc.
If you’re a full time recruiter then this
version may be the better choice. For a
full-time recruiter, tracking candidates through
the hiring process, automatically updating
candidate, client, job, and hiring manager
records to reflect events during this process as
they happen, is not “optional,” but rather a
core requirement of being in the recruiting
business. Performing these tracking functions in
your database takes less time and effort than
using spreadsheets or manual systems, plus
automatically accumulates high-value historical
data in your database with no additional effort.
