Detroit, Mich. - July 29, 2009 - Effective Sept. 8, 2009, the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) E-Verify electronic employment verification system will be required for many government contractors and subcontractors. According to numbers released to the Center for Immigration Studies by the Department of Homeland Security, E-Verify is now being used to determine work authorization for one in four new hires in the United States.

nowHIRE.com will host a webinar to shed light on the implications of the E-Verify mandate on U.S. businesses and the importance of being Form I-9 compliant. The webinar will take place on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 11 a.m. Pacific time (2 p.m. Eastern time).

During the webinar, nowHIRE's Patrick Kennedy will provide an overview of Form I-9 compliance and E-Verify, including the benefits of automating I-9 processing, the latest updates about E-Verify, who is impacted by E-Verify and how employers can avoid penalties and fines.

"According to a recent report by the Center for Immigration Studies, E-Verify is being used at more than half a million worksites and required by 12 states nationwide," said Kennedy, nowHIRE's senior business development executive. "With the growth in use of E-Verify, it's beneficial for organizations to look for a Web-based I-9 compliance system that helps them streamline the E-Verify process, avoid I-9 errors and, most importantly, avoid costly penalties."

During the webinar, nowHIRE will demo their I-9 Comply System with the optional E-Verify component. The E-Verify Program from nowHIRE integrates with the federal government's E-Verify program and allows organizations to view and directly submit data to the federal E-Verify system. Organizations are able to see results immediately and take the necessary actions. nowHIRE is a federally approved designated agent, and nowHIRE's E-Verify Program is a government-certified program.
